I am really pleased to announce that I have won the Glaister Ennor Art Award on Tuesday with my entry 'Walking Space'. The opening was very lively and the exhibition runs until Saturday. This means I will have the great opportunity to exhibit at OREXART gallery next year.

The awards ceremony and opening of the Glaister Ennor art awards exhibition is happening tonight at 5.30pm.

Glaistor Ennor awards

I have been nominated for the upcoming Glaistor Ennor Graduate Art Awards along with 3 others from AUT and 4 each from the 5 art colleges in Auckland, making a total of 20 artists. The exhibition is held at Oedipus Rex Gallery in Auckland.
The opening is on Tuesday 28th July at 5.30pm and the winners will be announced there. Last year

The exhibition will run from Monday 27th July to Saturday 1st August.

Coming Soon - new photo-composite site

I am starting up a new site for photo composites which will be available to buy. I will produce them as limited editions of between ten and twenty prints for each image.
I have access to a 60 cm wide professional epson printer at AUT university and so I can print them up to 60 cm across. Here is the link to the site: http://photo-composites.blogspot.com

Friends of Auckland Art Gallery Student Exhibition

The Friends of Auckland Art Gallery had their annual student exhibition opening on 2nd July.
It is at AUT Gallery 3 at 39 Symonds Street, Auckland.

This year the theme of the exhibition was 'Sustainability' and it is open until Friday 10th.

photo composit using painting and photographic sources. I also made a moving image composite from this as part of a tryiptych which I showed at AUT's Talk Week.

Photographic composites

I've been using compositing techniques using 2 1/2D software for some time as prep for painting. Here are a series of photo composites which were originally made with a painting in mind but I have developed them in their own right.

Post Grad Diploma Show

The studio presentation above was the final decision on the hanging on one of the studio walls. They turn out coincidentally to be in the chronological order that they were painted in from left to right, however the main consideration was a potential narrative which might form in the mind of the viewer.

Destruction and Renewal

The Friends of Auckland Art Gallery have an annual Student Exhibition which took place this year at AUT's Gallery 3 in Symonds Street.
